ST-29. [Trans-Division Symposium] New Developments on Chemical Engineering Bridging between Materials and Medicine

Organizer(s): Ohta Seiichi (Univ. of Tokyo), Nakahata Masaki (Osaka Univ.), Watanabe Takaichi (Okayama Univ.)

Nowadays, synthesis and preparation processes of materials have become essential in cutting-edge research and development on healthcare technologies such as artificial organs, regenerative medicine, drug delivery, image diagnosis, assay chip and sensing. In such a background, chemical engineering can play a crucial role to connect materials science and healthcare technology. This symposium aims to see the overview of recent researches ranging from structure and properties of materials to functions as medical devices from a higher perspective. This symposium welcomes presentations from researchers in wide range of fields such as biochemical engineering, materials and interfaces, and so on.
